What we DO know about the post quarantine Universal Studios

Today Universal Studios Orlando has made live their reservation system for the exclusive annual pass holder opening days (3rd and 4th June). Reservations were made available in order of tier status, with Premier and Preferred passholder’s given an hour advantage over Power and Seasonal Passholders. The booking page states “Please select your date, arrival time and preferred theme park for entry. One spot per pass holder . Duplicate reservations will be cancelled…Passholder’s must present valid Annual or Seasonal pass, photo I.D and park reservation ticket for entry”. Tickets are made available on a strictly first come, first served basis. There are reports of serious lag times and error codes due to the influx of traffic onto the site, if you were lucky enough to get a reservation I hope you enjoy being back home!

Further information regarding social distancing was published today and are as follows;Volcano Bay will not as we suspected be mixing parties on “family style” raft rides, no facemasks will be required though they will be encouraged but will not be allowed while riding or using any of the pools, opening day capacity will be set at 1,500, disposable cutlery will be used, life jackets will be sanitised after every use and finally Teawa Fearless River will have two exits but only one entrance. As far as Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure their capacity for opening day will be 10,000 which is almost a third of the parks capacity with Universal Studios usual capacity of 27,000 and Islands Of Adventures capacity of 29,000 respectively. I am looking forward to seeing how virtual lines and social distancing on ride vehicles and queues will affect wait times, regardless at almost a third of its usual capacity Islands Of Adventure is sure to be the destination for those attempting to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure with a hopefully minimal wait. Good luck to everyone!

After writing this blog Universal Orlando Resort have announced the opening of all resort hotels excluding Portofino Bay and Dockside Inn on June 2nd.
